Top 10 Single Cup Coffee Makers From $100 to $200
1. Keurig B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System $104
Keurig is one of the top brand in this range of price and let’s be honest, one of the best in its category. The B40 which we already mentioned in a previous article is one of their single serve brewers. It starts just a little over $100. It uses a 48-ounce water reservoir and also has a removable drip tray. You will be able to choose among the wide variety of K-Cups for coffee, tea or chocolate, the patented cups that will also prevent any messy grinding or clean up. This model offers 2 cup size option (7.25 and 9.25 ounces). Other features are the 2-hour automatic shut off and descale indicator. Before you can start getting your favorite hot drink, 4 minutes of priming are needed.
2. Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System $149.95
The Keurig B60 shares the same features with the Keurig B40 above. The difference is in the brew size options, not 2 but 3 (5.25, 7.25 and 9.25oz) with this model.
3. Keurig B-70 B70 Platinum Single-Cup Home Brewing System $179.95
One more Keurig? Really? Yep, indeed Keurig single serve brewers are really popular and best sellers in this price range. The B70 again shares the same features and add some more. IT comes with a one-touch control panel with blue backlit LCD display featuring a digital clock. It is also programmable. The water reservoir jumps to a 60-ounce capacity and you can brew for 5 size cup sizes: 3.25-ounce iced beverage, small 5.25-ounce cup, 7.25-ounce small mug, 9.25-ounce large mug, and an 11.25-ounce travel mug.
Note about Keurig Brewers: Keurig offers a wide variety of K-cups so you can definitely find a flavor that suits you. But even if you don’t like their selection, you can buy some “My Cup” and fill those with your own coffee. We didn’t include the Keurig B30 Mini Personal brewer, which we found between $100 and $150 but offers less options (one size cup only, though a little faster than other models, brews in 3 minutes).
4. Senseo SL7832/55 Single Serve Supreme Coffee Machine $119
With its chrome finish this Senseo machine is pretty attracting. It has more options that its little brother (Senseo 7810, around $60), such as the adjustable spout for different cups and mug sizes, the removeable reseroir of 32 ounce. It doesn’t get any easier to get a quick coffee with this Senseo machine, just push the brew button after you input your pod. It uses the Senseo pods of course. It can get you up to 10 ounce of coffee in under a minute. Nice.
5. Cuisinart SS-700 Single Serve Brewing System $198
Certainly one of the biggest single serve coffee maker you can get, with a big 80-ounce removable water reservoir, so if you don’t like the idea of refilling several times to make several coffees in row, this comes handy. It offers 5 brew size options of 4, 6, 8, and 10 ounces. It has a removable drip tray for the tall travel mugs. One interesting feature is the iced beverage setting for those of you who also want some fresh drinks. With its fully programmable blue backlit LCD with digital clock, and adjustable temperature and automatic power on and off, it directly competes with the B70.
Aven more when you know this model is equiped with the K-Cup system. It even includes the My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter and a pack of 12 K-Cup. It approaches the $200 though!
6. Bosch TAS4511UC Tassimo Single-Serve Coffee Brewer $104
The Tassimo system by Bosch is one of the great one among single cup coffee makers, and fast one. It uses the T-Disc with the barcode technology scanned by the machine to auto adjust setting and at the touch of a button it will brew your hot beverage in approximately one minute. These will let you get a coffee, tea and chocolate as well cappucino and lattes with REAL milk. You don’t need to measure anything with T-Discs and it allows for a clean brewing. You can customize the size and strenght of your coffee too! It has a pleasant LED user interface; and a 67-ounce removable water tank (without water filter) and comes with 2 MAVEA water filters included. At the time of writing this, it is priced about the same as the Keurig B40.
7. Bosch TAS6515UC Tassimo Single-Serve Coffee Brewer $150
This model is a little more expensive than the one jst above. This is another Tassimo by Bosch coffee machine. By the way there are over 40 varierties of T-Disc from 12 various companies (such as starbucks). This model, the Tassimo T65 is an upgraded version of the T45 just above and has the same features of the one above but Bosch added a LCD display. This little screen allows you to follow the step by step process or tell you when to refill the water reservoir. If you can live without this, you can just go with the cheaper T45 which anyway uses the same T-Discs.
Note about Tassimo brewers: The brewing occurs inside the T-Disc by using a unique inverse flow system. This way beverages pour directly from the discs into your cup, this allows you to make different drinks in a row without flavor transfer. They also have automatic cleaning and descaling built-in.
8. Nescafe Krups KP210050 Dolce Gusto Single Serve Coffee Machine $139.99
This Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine by Krups is the machine for all fans of George Clooney. Okay… not only. What else? Well, it has its own specific system, using the Nescafe caspules which also allow for no messy grinding and clean up. The removable water reservoir is a 51 ounce tank, and the drip tray is removable too. It is equiped with a 15-bar pump, which is definitely a good thing to brew a great espresso. There are also some custom-control features that will let you adjust the strenght of your coffee.
Single Cup Coffe Maker Series: The End!
That’s it. We decided to stop at 8, there are more in this price range, and even more expensive coffee machines. However, we would have been repeating ourselves with more single serve coffee makers that basically share the same options and features, with few more or less bells and whistles.
So now you would need to make a choice according to your need but above all, your coffee drinking habits. If you just drink one cup of coffee a day then don’t go for the bigger models, which are generally more expensive. Also keep in mind that the same system is used within models of the same brand, thus making your choice only relaive to the options. Just look at what is necessary for you. In the end what you want is a great cup of coffee.
Thanks for stopping by, this single cup coffee maker series is done! We’ll dig into more coffee machines in the next days. Happy brewing!
