Breville has always stepped up to the plate when it comes to stylish, accent-piece-esque appliances for your home. Your guests are sure to compliment you on this small, stainless steel gem that you’ll have on your countertop.

Stainless steel is the way to go, and Breville took it all the way with the Cafe Roma — like they do with the rest of their high-quality appliances. Accenting the stainless is black, and it’s in all the right places. Nothing is overdone, overstated or too extreme in this design. The “Power” switch is black, along with the handles for the filter and steam wand. Along the bottom below the drip tray is also accented in black. The rest is stainless steel glory.

Another thing you’ll notice about the Breville Cafe Roma is that nothing looks like you need a Ph.D to operate it. It’s simple and elegant. Front and center above the filter holder is a selector control with positions for “Stand By,” “Espresso” and “Steam.” Nothing too difficult about that. Brewing is so straightforward that you’ll be impressed with yourself even if you’re not a coffee geek. Everything is laid out in the most straightforward and easy-to-use manner.
